Ulcers in the terminal ileum
April 28, 2024
A 36-year-old patient came for video capsule endoscopy. For about a year he has been suffering from abdominal pain. The patient was previously examined: EGD, VCS, CT SCAN. The patient underwent colonoscopy three times in different hospitals without general anesthesia, but never had the terminal ileum examined.
At the Medico clinic, the patient underwent video capsule endoscopy, where ulcers were found in the terminal ileum. Then ileocolonoscopy was performed under general anesthesia and a biopsy was taken from the terminal ileum. The results of the biopsy were consistent with Crohn's disease.
The patient started a course of treatment.
