Submucosal mass of the jejunum

A 57-year-old male patient had been complaining of gastrointestinal bleeding for 9 years, recurring every 3-4 months. He was repeatedly treated in the surgical department at his place of residence and received blood transfusions. In the Department of Proctology, the patient underwent video capsule endoscopy and a submucosal mass of the jejunum was detected, which was not visualised by any other diagnostic methods. The patient was operated on and discharged in a satisfactory condition. The histological picture of the mass is consistent with a gastrointestinal tumour (GIST)
