Express preparation

Hydrocolonotherapy as a method of colon and rectum express preparation for examinations and operations.

Advantages of this method:

1. Patients avoid using enemas (there is especially important for patients with diseases of anal canal).
2. There is possibility of express preparation before colonoscopy and barium enema examination.
3. Effectiveness for patients with partial bowel obstruction (possibility to perform primary recovery operations).
4. High quality of preparation with minimum discomfort.

We realized 228 procedures of hydrocolonotherapy, as a preparation for examinations and operations.

1. Preparation for operations – 150 patients (8 patients with symptoms of bowel obstruction).
2. Preparation for colonoscopy – 66 patients (16 patients were prepared for endoscopic operations).
3. Preparation for barium enema examination – 12 patients.

Effectiveness of hydrocolonotherapy, as a method of preparation for operations (Total: 150 patients, 8 of them had partial bowel obstruction):

• Very good – 140 patients
• Good – 9 patients
• Enough – 1 patient
• Not enough – 0 patients

Effectiveness of hydrocolonotherapy, as a method of preparation for colonoscopy / proctosigmoidoscopy (Total 66 patients):

• Very good – 60 patients
• Good – 4 patients
• Enough – 2 patient (dolichosigmoid II)
• Not enough – 0 patients

Effectiveness of hydrocolonotherapy, as a method of preparation for barium enema examination (Total 12 patients):

• Very good – 11 patients
• Good – 1 patient
• Enough – 0 patient
• Not enough – 0 patients
